There are ballfields to dig and others just stay off of.

I have both in my areas. There's what I call the wild ones. Patchy grass bare ruts middle of field quite worn and trashy. Now that's my kind of hunting. Usually other things abandoned balls chairs jackets etc. And a big bonus if there's a snack stand. Lots of clad.
Than there's the ones that are professional looking. Great looking well kept grass. Its not cool to be caught out there digging. Some of these have productive sidelines parking area's and such. Than there are what I call the mystere fields. Well used but kept up also and almost no Treasure nada hardly any clad even. You just never know.

Well my opinion on any ballfield is,If it's in use I'll do the outfields and sidelines only.I have found many good finds in these locations but by no means will I even think about going into the infield to search, plus the danger of someone getting tripped up and getting it shutdown to MD'ing.

yea, we have the same thing here. To be honest the fields that are open for hunting have far more activity so I guess it's a good trade off.

I have a Ball field I hunt every 6 months and I always seem to find a Ring around the second base area?.......... If there's any physical activity taking place there's lost jewelry to be found.

You guys are lucky. Our city's MDing permit forbids detecting sports complexes and ballfields. Some schools list MDing as a prohibited activity on their grounds. Fortunately, the larger parks and play areas are still open game, for now.
