...got on the elevator pulling a wagon. Wagons are used here at Vanderbilt to transport luggage in and out and also to take younger children for walks to get them out of their rooms for awhile.
Since it was empty I assumed she was checking out, but when I inquired she said, "No...we've been here a month and probably have another month to go."
I can't imagine how she must feel or what her child is in for. Just a few days confined to a hospital room and we are looking for a way to escape! In our stays here we have met many people from all over the country in situations with their children that are so much worse than Brians.
When things get dark about our situation with Brian I am reminded of others like that young lady and I feel blessed. It could be much worse.
We may actually go home tomorrow! The doctor came in this morning and removed the packing in his nose. If there isn't excessive bleeding tomorrow we'll be released. Due to swelling, Brian only has slits to see through and his right eye is almost completely shut.
He asked if he could use my eyepatch! "Eyeeeee...matie...of course ye can me son..."
Brian is getting demanding now too..."Dad, I want Wendy's for lunch!"
"You've got it dude!!"
Today we will get Brian out of bed and take him for a walk so he'll have some new walls to look at.
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers!!
