The X's have me thinking

Dirt Poor

New member
Being arthritic and unable to hunt with a heavy machine without a harness, I'm kinda interested in one of these X's. Currently have a White's xlt that I recently got a great deal on, but I knew when I bought it that I may not be able to use it comfortably. Relics and coins would be my thing if I had one. I can swing the Tesoros pretty good. Hmmmmmmm...........

X-terras are light machines I have had the 50 now the 70 I swing them fo hours with no problems at all . I have never swung a tesoro but have heard they are light and whites are known to be good but heavy. The x-terra are also really good machines with tone Id. I think you will like them.

I used to swing the Vaquero and it was indeed a pleasure because of it's light weight. But, I missed the tones. Too me the X-terras are also pretty light. I think swinging the X models will be just as comfortable as the Tesoros.

The X-Terra-70 is a light machine and with the standard coils (like the 3Khz 9" coil) very easy to swing for long periods of time. I also relic hunt and therefore use the heavy 10.5 DD 7Khz coil. My arthritis acted up due to this heavier coil. I purchased one of Doc's Swingy Thingy and the problem was solved. This device takes all the weight and I can now swing the X-70 with the 10.5 DD coil all day with out discomfort. TomB

Thanks! I'm "thinning out the herd" of my machines, and see no reason why I can't make a few bucks on my XLT, so with the good reviews I have read on the X's, I'm probably gonna be looking for a decent used 70.

Thanks! I like having variable tones, too. It seems that the performance of an X-70(maybe even a 50) would be similar to the White's, but without all the weight. I am comfortable with a beep-and-dig machine, or a TID model, but it's kinda fun to have a screen to check.

Thanks, Tom! I bought a support harness from kellyco for the XLT, but haven't used it in the field yet. I guess I just have a case of the "wants", and want an X machine. I have read comparison posts from people who have owned both machines(X and xlt), and it seems that most liked the X better.
