The World was at war and 203940 of these would buy a Mustang P-51:surprised:

Blackie & I took time out from Tot-Lot-In this morning for some serious jingle hunting in Penny Park

Ole George has been hiding out about 68 years there and was about 9-10 inches down VDI meter was showing an 83.

My dad would have been "over there" fighting when this one was minted.

This coin has very little circulation on it and is in super condition. You just got to :inlove: that silver shine coming from those depths.....I know I do:thumbup:

I figured it must have been dropped close to the year of issue by its condition. Blackie and I found it about 10 foot from a swimming pool that was built in the early 1980's. Prior to that the field was part of an old High School football field complex., that lies next to Penny Park. I figured the reason it was so deep was that backfill from the digging of the pool was spread over the old field

I've got a spot like that and if it ever rains to soften the ground, I'll give the ATP a shot out there. My spot was the old high school football field and when they built the new school back in the '70's, they pushed the excess spoil onto the old football field, about 8-10" deep, near as I can tell. I have pulled sone old coins out of there, but they were just barely in range of any of my previous detectors. Maybe the little extra the ATP has will get on down to the original field, sidelines and grandstand turf.
