It was a nice afternoon and weather conditions were right, so off to the lane in search of loot I went. Very few depositors, and hardly anyone in the water,......targets were scarce and I was only digging a few clad. I was digging what I thought was a clad and look and see what came up.......Mr. Clam!!.....he must have swallowed a coin. Found a couple more live clams but they did not register!

Clams cannot be taken from this area. Department of Enviromental Protection officers lurking about......they do not like me and would sieze any opprotunity to fine me. Their are no rules about detecting on the beach and during the summer months I would slink around the edge and out into deep water, DEP guys make life difficult if you are in the sand but cannot do anything when in deep water. They would stand on the beach and try and wave me in, and I would pretend not to see them since I was WAY past the high water mark.
