No place definite in mind. We can't afford the ridiculous prices in Florida.
But, we are looking hard at the southernmost states bordering Florida.
I want to be within a long days drive of SOBE, if thats any indication.
More to come.

i lived in FL for 2 years...got hit by 3 Hurricanes in 1 year..that was enough for me.i mover here in Tn.i can drive 8 hrs to hunt LOL!

My wife and I moved here in '89. Hurricanes can be scary but no different than a Tornado in the mid country or flooding from over flowing river banks, etc... . Theres something everywheres, depends on where your at.

Today we have a cold front over us and its in the 50's. Beats digging out of snow.

Anyone looking to move to Florida, forget the coast (unless you got 250k to a millon) the middle/North or South of the state is the place to go, the still alot of undevelope areas.
Been here 4 yrs now.Lakeland is cheaper housing and centrally located. Lots of work to be had also.
LOL my wife worked @ Buddy Gregg motor coach in Lakeland..we lived in Winter Haven just down the road from you!

I pay $2,000.00 a year for my home up here in Iowa, and its very modest.:ranting:
I saw numerous listings of nice ranch homes in the Dothan area, $75-125 thousand, and taxes were anywhere from "exempt" to $600.00 per year.:surprised: Plus, they have real yards!!
Also, its only about 80 miles to Panama City Beach. 548 miles to SOBE.
That may sound like a lot, but I have driven 1600 miles one way to Miami for five years now.
548 is a one day drive.
