Wow that is completely nuts! That weld breaks at the right time / angle that axe head is going full speed "ahead" .... the end result is not going to be a pretty picture.
Good luck with that.
 
Just think of all the things out there similar to this that someone had to make modify and prefect! I just don't know if You Tube is the place to document the perfecting of a invention. A spinning ax head may not be the best possible source for splitting wood either ! George
 
Most of those wheels I have seen did not have the guard. They also stood the log up (like normal log splitting) and timed the placement when the blade passed the splitting spot. Their hands were inches from the split blade....I wouldn't use a contraption like that....I like my fingers, all of them.
