The way I hunted today...........

I turned the disc to right below zincs, notched in nickels, JE, 2F, and sens. at 85.

6 Wheaties, 1 silver dime, and a 3 ringer. A lot less noise and I think because it recovers so fast, I don't seem to be loosing that much depth. This was also a place that had been hunted before...by me with an Exp.:surprised:

I notch in nickels and run the disc up to 65. I run 3F/ JE 80. The first night I was at this site I ran the 75 wide open and it was way too noisy and just drove me crazy ( I couldn't concentrate on the signals). The coins are only 5 or 6 inches deep and they bang right in even with these high disc settings.

Try sen. 70 and up, disc. 16, notch 35, tone 3H, JE mode. You will get nickels, gold rings, all the gold coins, and clad and silver coins, but will not get as much squ. tabs , iron ans some foil.

And like it a lot. I just tried this other way after the chirps and pops got to me. Thanks for the reply. HH Chris

I'm going to have to print this page and give the above settings a try... there's an old fairgrounds here that has been beaten to death but I know there still has to be a few that got missed.
