The venerable 1911 45 is back. HEADLINE: Sticking to their guns: Marines place $22.5M order for the Colt .45 M1911

Colt gold cup-- if they still make em uses same cartridge- same browing design is much more accurate, due to a tighter bushing in the slide , however it might be more prone to jam under field conditions.
 
... sold it in the early 90's for I think $350. That Colt 1911 model 45 cal saw less than 50 rounds fired thru it. Sure wish I had not sold it. It was a beautiful pistol.
