The Velos Handy?

Foggy

New member
Hi guys
I'm a new member and an avid fan of the F Series Forum, I've been learning my F5 for the last 6 weeks and found some great stuff! I love to do my own research and when I found this item, I expected it to be easy because of all the information on the disk! Oh how wrong I was:surrender:

The disk is 32mm diameter and has a slightly raised circle in the middle. Below is what is printed around the outside of the disk, there is only a tiny area I can't read, possibly two initials?

The "Velos-Handy" British Makers & Co Ltd or The "Velos-Handy" British Make F P & Co Ltd

I have tried my own research, and even posted on another forum but nobody can crack this! Maybe you guys can help me?

I also tried a web search and found one link to a coastal defence plane built 1925 called The Velos but most of the results are for bicycles. I don't believe this is from a bicycle!
The pictures are front and back shot.
Anyway, if you need anymore info just ask, thanks
Regards

It almost looks like a pressure burst disk of some sort. Like if the pressure of a valve got to high the disk would blow instead of another part. Like in a steam car perhaps? Just a wild guess.

I thought of that also Elton, I didn't think it was deep enough though. LOL who knows?

Hi guys
Thanks for the thoughts, if it were a part of a bicycle I would have thought it was tracable through the name? I have exhausted my resources on this one.

I think it may be part of the clamp from a G Clamp type Velos Pencil sharpener. Went inside the rubber thing on the end of the screw that went up under the table it was clamped to, to give it rigidity.
