Got a phone call from a fellow club member saying he had permission to hunt a 1850's house and would I be interested in joining him. I grabbed a couple of detectors and the wife and out the door I went. When I got there I grabbed my high dollar machine and got busy the first thing that I found out was that there were square nails everywhere. My high dollar machine just went to sleep! So back to the truck I went and without any hesitation I grabbed the V and (it just happen to have a 5.75 concentric on it). There are days when you have the wrong machine for the job and there are days when you have the right machine and today the V owned this site. The v cut through the square nails like they weren't even there. I felt embarrassed at all the targets I dug and when the day was over I had 1/2 of a 1842 Lg cent a beautiful eagle button (if anyone can I.D. the button I would appreciate it) a 1902 V 5c a wheat cent and a few relics. This was a very small area 8 X 6 that all the good stuff was found and the Vaquero worked like a champ. The Vaquero showed me today that it can hunt with the best of them and even out perform them at times.
