The Vaq was hitting deep today

Found a Rosie what I think is some silver jewelry but it is unmarked and three wheats. All three wheats were 6 to 8 inches deep. One of them was deeper than my Fiskars digger blade. They didnt give great signals but after i heard it I would supertune it and get a better signal. The Rosie and jewelry were shallow.

Nice finds! The Vaq is such a great machine

Let me add a little more. I had the sens at ten and the threshold around 2 oclock and the disc slightly above iron.. The wheats were scratchy but scratchy all the way past tab. Id super tune it, sens maxed out and threshold past three and they would hit at max disc. but still scratchy. Honestly each one fooled me. I thought I had hit rusty cans.

That's nice day's haul.

Some wheaties might do that...I've hit some real deep that came in fine. What coil were you using?

Nice going! Thats whats so great about the "V", it gives you all you need to find the good stuff!

Looks like you figured your ground balance out?Proper ground balance, sense max no crack, threshold max,and i can say i would be pretty confident of not missing anything deep.Hatpin you got your headphone problem fixed,i hope you got your ground balance problem fixed? It sure looks like it!That is a beautiful heart glass piece! You were so in the zone, wheats and then a rosie ! :hot:

Im still not sure about the ground balance. When the GB knob is turned should the unit scream like a calf ?I barely move the knob and it lets out a howl

I would be very happy with that

Yes it can do this.Just make sure to check the ground in all metal first. If you lower the coil to the ground and the volume increases, turn the control in small increments( -)If the volume goes lower, turn the control in small increments(+).You want a unchanging threshold while lowering the coil to the ground. :-D

Im doing it correctly. Ive found lots of good ,deep stuff.Even a tiny gold earing. My unit just seems noisier and more sensitive than the ones in the videos . But the results have been there.

This is my first year using a pinpointer. Its invaluable. yesterday on those pennys Id pinpoint with the vaq, Flap the ground, insert the propointer and nothing. Take out a healthy load of dirt , reinsert propointer and I would be right on top of the pennys. I have learned to pinpoint pretty well with the Tesoro. The vaq + the propointer is an efficient combo.

Nice finds!
