The United States Dept. of Homeland Security Couldn't Detect a Threshold on the X-50

Even with their sensitive eavesdropping equipment. I should have been more specific as the only threshold on the 50 is when GB is on. I could probably listen for a long time in all metal and still not hear that faint hum. R.L.

During GB the object of the game is to end up with no sound, which means the machine is perfectly balanced. If you have very mellow ground where adjusting the GB several points up or down gives very little change in amplitude, or amplitude is low, then this is a good thing. That is why the GB also has a high-low tone feature to assist you when the audio amplitude is low.

In hotter ground because of the resolution of the GB steps, you may never arrive at silence and you can end up with mixed tones at various amplitudes. Also in hotter ground, moving a couple points away from the best setting causes the amplitude to ramp up quickly.

If you believe it is a headphone interface problem, then pull the headphones and GB using the speaker.

Hope this helps.
