The ultimate evil: Electrolysis

Not a bad hunt today. Found a gold bracelet that tests 14Kt (13.7 grams!) but it was a mess. It was resting next to a bottle cap and had been there for a very long time. Long enough to form an electrolytic connection. It was encrusted with sand and I had to carefully separate the bottle cap from the bracelet. I have taken this picture after an initial cleaning and the bracelet is now sitting in a recently purchased ultrasonic cleaner. So far, the results look promising.

The toe-ring dangling from the bracelet was found as I was trying to find a connector for a young lady's belly button piercing. I did not find the connector and probably would never have found it because it was much smaller than the openings of my scoop. Oh well.....She'll just have to go get punctured again! The triangle piece appears to be gold and the medallion is silver. A few coins and glorious weather.
