The UGLY side of Detecting:pulltab:

Everyone (including me) likes to show their best finds on this site. Here is stuff from the junk pouch I carry. Probably 8-10 outings. Every time one of those tabs showed up as gold, I though it would be the day. If you want to find the goods, dig the junk. As DavHut puts at the bottom of his posts, "Get your knees dirty, boy, and stop gawking at that display..." - D. Doyle, Ancient and Wise Detectorist. Just dig, dig dig. :detecting:

I think too many people get fooled with some of the commercials and forms, thinking that we just go out for a short walk and come home with our treasure bag bulging with rings and silver.

It just isn't so.......

Hey! I found one of those once......eheheh.

...I dont call it UGLY, just the truth. Besides, even the trash tells a story, if you listen.

I have to be honest though. The more I've been detecting the more I have come to learn what a pop top is and don't usually dig them. BUT!!! On a rare occasion I have dug the sound of a pop top to find a coin. So there has to be a happy in between. When or not to dig...
