Just got my power turned back on and we are doing fine.

Just didn't want anyone to worry,

HH,

Glad to hear it Tabdog!:clapping:

I guess some folks are having a rough time...:sadwalk:

Y'know, they got 3500watt generators for about $300 that will keep the food cold and lights on...

Turn off the mains and backfeed the panel through a 220 outlet and yer in business.

Thanks Rmptr,

I need to get a generator. I think about it a lot when we have storms.

I was holding out for a bigger generator, but I guess I need to be more realistic.

There's lots of people that weren't as lucky as me. I hope they are getting the help they need.

HH,

I tried to get out to day but it wasn't in the cards.

I'm itching to get the old Gray Ghost perculating again.:detecting:

HH,

Thanks Stan,

Those big ones are nothing to laugh at.

When it came through here it was just a real long 75 mile an hour gust that lasted about five minutes.

Trees down and roofing shingles everywhere. I only sustained minor damage.

We are lucky,

Been through a few years ago - such an experience.
And when all is fine and there's no power for sometime afterwards, that's another to add on top.
Good to hear all is a-ok.

I'm starting to get some pics of the mess...
Fell sry for all the folks.
Will say a prayer they get through it well as they can.

There was a tornado that stayed in the ground for a distance of 123 miles. A new record.

It was an F4 to F5. It fluxuated from 1/2 to 1 mile wide.

I've seen a F5. It will suck grass out of deep ditches by the roots.

There's no place to hide. It's a merical more people didn't die.

HH,

Where was the 123 mile long path of that Tornado TD??? I am kinda a Tornado buff, and have lots of clipings, and stories. I do not have that article, or if I do, it's related diferently. Was that by chance the straight line Tornado that went over three States back in the Early 1900...era..Or was that one of the ones you just had in the South. Thanks in advance for your reply.

El, I am sorry I did not make that clear.

That was one of the tornadoes that hit Arkansas on 2/04/08.

It was contained inside the borders of Arkansas.

It is the longest tornado in Arkansas history. 123 miles long. 1/2 to 1 mile wide.
Speeds well in excess of 200 miles per hour.

That's a Arkie Storm ! ! ! ! ! ! !

My memory is not good enough to remember the cities that were hit.

The National Weather Bureau has just released their findings and
have made that determination after their investigation.

You may see it on the news. Or it may be out of the headlines now.

HH,

As a kid in Wisconsin in 1960 or so as we prayed and cried a tornado passed over our place with out touching down. 123 miles on the ground must make quite a rut!
