The top CZ experts are employed by Fisher

Mike Scott

New member
Chief Engineer David Johnson who invented the CZ platform
Fisher Engineer Marvin Jones who is more familiar with all CZs than anyone else on the planet and has worked for Fisher close to 30 years
Ross Spain another Fisher Engineer that worked hands on with virtually all incarnations of CZs during and well after development-Ross also still works for Fisher.

For hands on no one even comes close to touching the best technician in the industry-Daniel Snell whom has worked on the development side, tested all CZ prototypes helped develop and verified all the test in tune manuals along with the specs they should fall under. He has easily calibrated and worked on more CZ units than anyone in the world and is still doing so today after 20 years. The CZ3D was aligned different than the already existing David Johnson technology, a tone added along with the enhanced mode-Daniel was involved in redefining the test and tune specs for it after the realignment. Another former Los Banos employee Sal Martinez also has more CZ experience under his belt than anyone outside of FTP. There are many more at FTP that have lots of experience. There are 20-25 different individual adjustments that can be made to CZs so there will always be slight variances and the chances of a unit not being up to par will always exist due to this and the potential for one of the many components being bad-having the most experience team in the world greatly lessons those chances.

Anyone claiming to know more than FTP and the above listed people while trying to make money charging for repairs should be taken with a grain of salt especially if it takes 4 months compared to one or 2 days at FTP.

The experts and leading authorities have been and are still employed at FTP and Fisher

Mike:

Recently, I sent my CZ-5 to Tom Dankowski for a tune up and I am very pleased with the results. He did the work in one day and sent it back the next. From what I read on his website and with my dealings with him, he is right up there with the guys you mentioned. He has a very active discussion forum on is website and shares a wealth of information to everyone. For me, the go to guy for the CZ platform is Tom Dankowski.

Just google his name and you will find is great website.

Mike,

Thanks for keeping a listening ear to the CZ- forum. I've been contemplating a CZ-3D but didn't know if it was forgotten with the focus on the new F series.

I have to agree with you Lee. In July of 2008 I sent my Cz-3d to NASA TOM , and from the time i sent it off from Illinois until i got it back was only 7 days. Was very pleased with Toms work.

Yeah, I'd kind of think that would be prudent. If you're making them, it would make sense to have the best people, especially the designers, involved.

Now about that retro-CZ5 with the high angle elliptical coil or maybe even a "DD" coil configuration for next year, it's a rumor I'd love to start and a dream I'd like to live. Hmmm, the CZ-80 anniversary edition.

His knowledge and the willingness to share it has made me almost as good as him in the field!
He has more endurance and weighs a good 60 pounds lighter!
He has worked on a few of my older CZ's and took me to his test garden to prove the improvements he made.
When I bought my F-75 about a year ago, I bought/traded my 3-D for his F-75 at a fair price.
2 weeks later I had my 1st $5 GOLD coin.

Glen what was it that you learned from Tom D. that contributed to finding your first $5 gold coin (congrats too!!) ?

Thanks and HH,
Brian

His prowess and his ability to find massive amounts of pull tabs makes him king of the hill.
In only ten minutes of hunting you can find enough nails to build a small cabin.
He has worked with a few older CZ's and took me to his hidden park to show me where the goods are.
I bought my Ace 250, and we found these:

Fortunately I only taught him everthing he knows....smart alec!!!
