The Things People Do

The x-Terra screamed it's poor little lungs out in this highly mineralised soil but we kept plodding on waving that 10x5 coil from side to side in 38c heat.
After new years a friend and I thought we would try and find some gold, well it was a highly excitable idea anyway.Teetulpa gold field South Australia the middle of now where. Gold was discovered in October 1886, 150 nuggets were recorded ranging between 1-30oz. A 30oz nugget I thought what detector wouldn't find one of those.
Anyway to cut a long story short we found a ton of old nails and plenty of miners shirt buttons but no gold. One of our x prime minister's once said life wasn't meant to be easy, well he was certainly right where gold prospecting is concerned.I think we will wait for winter and have another go.
Despite the heat, no h2o,and very limited facilities it was still fun, the X-70 in prospecting mode I'm convinced will find gold, if it's there and not excessively deep, but above all you still have to wave that coil across the top of it.

Keep at it mate. I am sure that there is gold in them thar hills. I sure wish there and I could be there hunting with my X-70. I found a 33 oz nugget a couple of years ago in Alaska and it was the thrill of my life time. Good luck, Steve

But I sure wouldn't like to walk over to them thar Hills! Might forget where you parked the car! After all, Ford spelt backwards = Driver Returns On Foot.
Anyway. All the best in the winter time Sid. Won't have to worry about the snakes and the flies then.
