Post your very cool Tesoro customer service experiences here. :twodetecting:

Over the weekend I lost the battery door from my Vaquero while hunting in thick woods. I never found it after a long search of the area.
Called Tesoro today to buy a new one...
They're sending one to me for free. They said it was part of my warranty.

These people are great. :)

I sent in my warranty card and it said I should get a free lost treasure mag for free. Never got it. And upon emailing tesoro, they told me to contact lost treasure. LT has yet to respond. Well, so much for the free-be. Why do comanies insists on making these deals with others and they never honour them anymore? Then why do they bother to still have the advert on their warranty card. Just saying......

My Conquistador was doing a lot of chirping when I first got it. I called and Tesoro stayed on the phone while I went outside and air tested it and while I opened up the case and adjusted the balance or whatever internally and it fixed the problem. Patience was a virtue.

I sent you a new red and white card in the mail. You will get it in a few days. I also sent you a copy of your warranty card. I wish that if you filled out the red and white card for the free magazine, you call them. I gave you Lost treasures contact information.

Thank you so much for your effort.
I really appreciate it. :super:

I have nothing but gratitude for Tesoro and Rusty Henry. I have been using Tesoro products for about fifteen years and have on several occasions had to send a detector or coil in for repair or adjustment. On my last encounter with Rusty my Vaquero was acting a little odd, it was fixed quickly and satisfactory and Rusty also included a new battery door and coil nut & bolt ( said my battery door was showing signs of wear). I will continue to be faithful to Tesoro because they make GREAT detectors and their service dept. is second to none. May God bless them in all their endeavors. Thank you, signed Wesley Ingram

Thanks for the extra warranty card, however, it seems that LT mag is not interested in responding. This is what I got from them:

Thank you for your interest in Lost Treasure. We greatly appreciate your
feedback, someone will be responding to your message shortly.

Thank You,

It's been already a few days. It's not like it's the weekend or anything so I am not sure why they did not respond yet. Not sure if I would learn anything off them anyway since it is geared towards the US market and cities.

Anyway, I am very happy with my Compadre even though I did not get my free-be!

I didn't send you a warranty card. I sent you a copy of the warranty card. I sent you the card for the free Lost Treasures magazine.

Hi Robert, Can I ask tesoro to do two simple things to all of your machines Make battery doors with some kind of locking tab on them, next because old farts like me are not careful sometimes put inside the battery compartment a warning about ,IS power switched on because if it is BINGO when you install the battery!!!! also make some kind of prominent mark as to which terminal is positive, now I know the psitivity IS MARKED INSIDE however with 81 year old eyes they can be hard to see,I know you will give these matters your attention and I thank you beforehand, regards Bryan from DOWN UNDER

I think this is suppose to be a positive thread....not a complain about petty crap thread. Im personally looking forward to getting my new Tesoro!

The best beep and dig machines made.

I ordered another Eldorado uMax.

I traded my previous Eldorado uMax for another detector. I'm very happy with the trade, but I sure missed my Eldorado. It was a smooth running machine.

At any rate, the Eldorado will help fill the void since I'm going to have to sell my Bandido II uMax:sad:, because its high tone is making my ears ring. I just recently sent my Vaquero back to have it changed back to a low tone. I was told that my Bandido couldn't be changed to a low tone. Rats!

I'll post some pictures of my newly acquired Eldorado when it arrives.:)

Tesoro ROCKS!

We will pass the information to our R&D department. I would like to say however, If you have a 9v battery in your machine, the battery door should not fall off but if the compartment is empty, it will fall off. If you use an energizer 9v, it is physically bigger than all other 9v and it will warp the battery door over time. Sometimes it is hard to close the battery door with an energizer battery in your unit.

I hope this helps out not only you, but anybody else who reads this info!

I can identify with the need for an Eldorado. I traded mine last year and started missing it almost immediately. I think I'll have to try and pick up another this year. Right now I'm bonding with my Tejon and this time around I think it'll stick. Difference this time is I got a new Tejon that's working right, right from the start. Yeah, I started with a Tesoro about 4 years ago and went through a bunch of TID machines and now I'm back to stay with Tesoro.
