The Tesoro Compadre Gone Wild

The Compadre can find stuff faster than I can dig it in this rock hard clay soil I'm detecting. I kept the discrimination set between 'iron' and 'foil' in hopes of finding a small gold ring. I found a bunch of nickels, but no gold ring. I'm wore out. We need some rain.

Well, from the looks of that pile of goodies... if there had been any gold there you would have gotten every bit! Now you are overdue. Go get your reward...GOLD.

My morning was just like that. All good junk. Only a little change. Well, maybe better luck next time... KEN

Looking at that pile, we can't say ya didn't try! They seem to dig very little trash on them TV shows!

Oh Man....I see why you are worn out!!!!!!!!

Hi Tabman, would you have dug less trash with the Cortes?

Not if I set the discrimination low on the Cortes and dug all signals. I was on the prowl for gold.

I thought the ID would help identify the trash?

Gold jewelry ID's anywhere from foil to zinc pennies.

I don't know of a detector that can ID gold jewelry.

I have not reached that motivation level yet, and probably will not find any gold unless I get lucky at the beach.

I wouldn't have found 1/2 of that trash with my Compadre. With my disc set at "i" in iron, or just a hair before, the nails, paper clips, etc. just give a "click" on the audio and I still find gold next to them.

You should be tired, yowzers ! I did five hours yesterday and thought that I was going into heat stroke.

this would make a great example to new detectorists on what to expect from this hobby every rose does have its thorn :) If pulltab stock ever spike Tabman and myself will be set for life lol

Very True deliveryboy, unlike the youtube video's where every dig finds an old coin. Thanks for sharing the real deal tabman.

Yep, those aluminum tabs are there to discriminate out those that don't want to work for the really good stuff and those that do.

Good Lord what a mess! That picture would make a good screen saver! Hate to really set you off, but sometimes a gold chain can come in as a high or low iron signal too!

Mud

Mud I'm going to try all metal and see what I can dig up. I don't think I'm going to run out of targets anytime soon. :)

I like detecting the hunted out places.

Hey! that looks like my pile. I am just getting out with my unit and that's my reality. but the excitement and anticipation of what I am going to bring up blows my mind every time.
