The Tesoro Compadre Gone Wild

The Compadre can find stuff faster than I can dig it in this rock hard clay soil I'm detecting. I kept the discrimination set between 'iron' and 'foil' in hopes of finding a small gold ring. I found a bunch of nickels, but no gold ring. I'm wore out. We need some rain.

Not if I set the discrimination low on the Cortes and dug all signals. I was on the prowl for gold.

Gold jewelry ID's anywhere from foil to zinc pennies.

I don't know of a detector that can ID gold jewelry.

I have not reached that motivation level yet, and probably will not find any gold unless I get lucky at the beach.

I wouldn't have found 1/2 of that trash with my Compadre. With my disc set at "i" in iron, or just a hair before, the nails, paper clips, etc. just give a "click" on the audio and I still find gold next to them.

Yep, those aluminum tabs are there to discriminate out those that don't want to work for the really good stuff and those that do.

Good Lord what a mess! That picture would make a good screen saver! Hate to really set you off, but sometimes a gold chain can come in as a high or low iron signal too!

Mud I'm going to try all metal and see what I can dig up. I don't think I'm going to run out of targets anytime soon.

I like detecting the hunted out places.
