Found this 1908 Barber Quarter where they are digging up some sidewalks downtown where I live.
Stepped out of the car with my Compadre and 10 minutes later and 4 inches deep I found this 1908 Barber Quarter.
That makes a total of 6 silver coins I've found at these downtown sidewalks!!

1 Barber Halve (1907)
2 Merc Dimes (both 1917)
1 Standing Liberty Quarter (191:geek:

Nice going on the old silver coins.

Where exactly were the coins located? Underneath the sidewalk that was torn out or in the grassy area between the sidewalk and curb?

Also what was your setting?

The coins were underneath the sidewalk that was torn out. I try to run my discrimination between foil and 5 cents but there is lots of big iron in the ground so I mostly have to run it just above 1 cent zinc.

Here is the link where by brother had posted my earlier sidewalk finds.
