The Tek G2 continues to extract CW relics!

For the last 2 weeks I have been absolutely hammering this tiny CW campsite that somehow escaped development. It's in the yard of a small house in the middle of the town I live in. Actually, all of the bullets and buttons, and misc, relics have come from a spot that a 20 ft by 20 ft tarp would cover!!!! I have combed it back and forth, up and down, side to side, with my F75 and a couple of times with my new G2.
Went back today. Same little spot. Dug an Indian Head (to corroded to read the date!). Then scoured the ground again. A couple of these bullets gave only a one way chirp. When I spun around to give it the ol ninety degree sweep......no sound. I dug it anyway. BULLET!!!! This are is matted with nails. Every swing og the coil seems to hit hundreds. So this has been a crash course in learning my F75 and my G2. Now I like my F75!!! Its deep! But I am growning fond of the G2's ability to come along behind and pick out good targets.
There is a pistol bullet (I'm assuming) that measure .45 caliber on my calipers. It's not a Lemat ( I have one (40 cal) dug at this site). It's a drop in gret shape. Can any of you relic hunters point me to a forum that may identify this bullet for me. I am including a close up pic in case any of y'all may have seen one before.
Anyway, thanks for looking.

looks like a cleaner bullet for a pistol. Never seen one. May be a rare find. Try My Treasure Spot and go to Relic and Bottle. There's guys there full of great information on Civil War digs.

Nice Fine agian the G2 is wonderful !!

Was this using the stock 11" DD coil or did you do it with the 5" DD? I'm just curious of the Discrimination set-up you use. I am having okay results with a '40' setting to report most non-iron in the iron trash at demolition sites and some logging camps. Not the same period of nice finds you guys make back your way, but doing what I can to enjoy relic hunting NW Oregon sites.

Keep up the good work coving those places you have to work!

Monte, this is using the stock 11 inch DD coil. I was running Disc at 30 (didn't want to miss out on any iron relics, but still cancel the nails). Gain at 95. Sweet machine!!!

Thanks Bart. I appreciate you. You are a great no-sense Metal Detector dealer and Forum Sponser. I'll always do my shopping with Bigboyshobbies. when I need stuff for this hobby. I know that you didn't ask me to insert this plug into the thread.......but something NEEDS to be said for an Online Dealer that is honest, great priced, and a same day shipper!

Kevin -- I think it's great that the posters here helped you to decide to buy one of these machines (as you stated in a prior thread), and now we get to see that you are pleased with your decision and finding some great stuff!

Glad you are enjoying your machine and that it is working as well for you as it has for those of us that post here.
