For those of you that don't know, I got out of the hospital not long ago.
Had the third round of the most drug resistant form of staff infection. It
takes a terrible tole on the body.

I went relic hunting Sunday. The Arkie heat and humidity was aweful.
After about 150 yards into the woods, I started throwing up. I worked
my way back to my car and went home. My finds are still in my pouch
in the trunk of my car.

I have been in bed most of the time sense then.:goodnight:

This morning I took my son to school for his last day before summer.
On the way home I couldn't stand it. I stopped at the park and started
hunting the tot lot. Found a silver neckless, a broken butterfly and a
pressed penny.

After about an hour I am back in bed now. I may not be able to hunt for
a while.

I think I'm dead in the water.

So keep the finds coming til I can get back in the saddle,

Thanks Terri,

All I need is a little R&R.

That's " Rest and Refrigeration "........lol

Going out Thursday and Saturday. Hope to finds tons. I know what you mean about not being able to go out. When I can't get out for at least once (all day) a week, my wife says I get really CRANKY:ranting: I can't see it. REST my friend REST!!!

Get better i like to look at your finds
Staff infection is not good =/

Take care of yourself..... You have a lot more pictures to post

Take care of yourself Tabdog. I have known people who traveled and got a wicked case of staff. so sorry you had go through that. if i ever find anything worth posting i will make sure i do. get well....

Mix a teaspoon of honey (as long as you are not alergic to honey) with a teaspoon of cinnamon, add that to your favorite tea and drink that 2-3 times a day. Alternatively you can mix a teaspoon of honey and teaspoon of cinnamon and spread it on a bagel with creamcheese :) Super important to drink LOTS of fluids too. Honey has a barrage of antibiotic properties that are effective against even most resilient illnessess. Good Luck and speedy recovery.

Ugh, Staph Infections. Got one about three years ago. They gave me antibiotics and I would take it and it would go away, not completely tho. A few months later it came back and went through the whole process again. It kept coming back. Finally went to another doctor who told me that he couldn't believe the first doctor was giving me such a weak antibiotic. So he hit me up with the good stuff and finally got rid of it for good. Very painful experience that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Whatever antibiotics they give you make sure you take it accoriding to schedule and finish the bottle even if it appears the infection is gone. A little trick I learned from the doctor was get a wash rag and wet it. Stick it in the microwave for about one minute. Then put the hot rag on the infection for about ten to fifteen minutes. Do this four times a day until its gone. This will ease the pain, draw the bad stuff out of there, and help the blood flow in that area. Good luck and sorry to hear about it.

The antibiotics they gave me are so irritating they will
destroy the vain. It had to be injected. They put a tube
in under my arm that ran into my heart. That way the
medicine was dispersed in a larger volume of blood.

I don't have to worry that they did not give me enough
because they accidentally over dosed me by 300%.

I had to take the IV pole and all the garbage that goes with
it home with me. Then I had to give the injections my self.
I felt like I was made out of metal when they over dosed me.

Happy Hunting,

hi tabdog, i hope you get well soon. i'm very confident that you will make a full and speedy recovery. you gotta take care of yourself first. good luck my friend, and i'll be looking forward to your posts, and what a great opportunity to do some research! gws,

Lucky you can't metal detect for a while, after that overdose. Being made of metal is NOT a good thing if you want to detect. I suppose you could discriminate yourself out! Makes you wonder how safe we all are, when you can get 3 times the intended medication injected in you. Lucky it was antibiotic and not some other medicine that would have killed you. I got the good old lime disease this week and I'm on meds too. Nothing like yours though. Good luck and keep getting better. Heard someone mention it's a good time to do some research? I agree. Take advantage of the Internet and those old maps. A great time to make new neighbor friends too (those with old houses of course:look:).

get well soon tabdog, and don't push yourself too hard get well first! some of those doctors really make you wander sometimes,in one ear out the other most of them!

Tabdog, get well soon! I really enjoy your posts, and the board will not be the same without them! So get yourself back to 100% so we can all enjoy your adventures!

Best regards

Yep, get all recovered so you can get back to recovering the good stuff :)

Hey Tabdog, sorry to hear you're under the weather. I'm all for the honey treatment. You also have to fight the urge to get out & swing the detector in the hot sun. TAKE IT EASY for a while & let your immune system stay at full strength to fight this thing. You'll make up the time you lose now on the back end when you're better. We want to see your great finds, but we can wait a while!!!

I've just been too sick to be active on the forum.

Working real hard on getting better.

Suffering from diverticulitus right now.

Hopping it gets better,
