I have no doubt it can handle the extreme iron and hot rocks in this area. I will keep everyone posted at the end of each digging day. I have hunted near this site over the years with many Union and Confederate relics under my belt..I'm betting the T2 is a winner. The T2 will rock, the iron mineral and hot rocks will only roll. :wiggle: George Tex Kinsey

how low do ya think we'll have to run the AM sensitivity?

The ground in that area changes constantly. I will start at 60 and work my way down from there. The ferrous reading at a site nearby was 3 and ground phase 84 to 91. Yikes. I'm not afraid to lower the sensitivity until it smooths out. Suppose to rain Tuesday, ground is very dry.

there'll be appreciable extra battery drain with all that black showing on the Fe2O4 readout? ;) Thanks for the info, Tex, and it oughta be a hoot!

Tex, if the ground is still damp from the rain y'all are expecting be sure to compensate for it too when setting the Sens. In high iron and damp soil I like to start out at 50 then work up vice going backwards. In any case here's wishing ya all the success y'all can muster.
