Maggie has recieved the Babe and she's going under the knife very soon.
Hey Maggie take care of my baby while she's there....hehehehe

Just got delivery confirmation...got to learn that puppy as soon as it gets back. I'm taking her to a competition hunt in July...That hopefully will give us enough time to learn her new ways. Shreve Ohio planted hunt suppose to be about $8,000 in Gold and Silver up for grabs... The Tek I hope will get her share of the good times there. Hope I get to meet some you there.
Anyone know the area and what hotels are available? Closest battery store..hehehe. Any information about planted competition hunts would be appreciated also. This would be my first competition hunt. Will except for when the wife teaches me a lesson. Which I'll admit does happen from time to time.

We plan on using a Tek 2, a GTI 2500, and a Tek Turbo any idea's that would prepare us for the hunts would be much appreciated.

My recommendation would be based on how the plantings were done and how they are going to be breaking up the hunts. Have been to several where they will have like four separate timed hunts each with certain types of coins/tokens to be found. If they do something similar to this and say one of them has predominately silver in the ground run the T2 up max on the disc and go from there. Don't concern yourself with depth since most planted hunts only go from 0-4in max. I have only seen two in the last 25yrs where they had buried a couple nice keeper at 8+ though these were the exception to the rule. Like in most comp hunts go free willy and move fast. This is the one area I have wondered how the T2 would fare because of it's repsonse recovery time coupled with the slower swing speeds it requires due to it's super sensitivity. I used to love to work my BH TR in them comp hunts since I could find that first hit then click over to SNIFF and just smoke the competition relative to speed. There is one other thing too that will work to your advantage with the T2 and the is the Freq modes. Because so many folks will be working their units in close proximity to you the Freq adjustment on the T2 will provide you the capability to tune them out unlike other detectors I have used where there was just no way to work near another thus you lost valuable time and time/speed is what these hunts are all about. The T2 with it's great pinpointing capabilities to should also speed up your recovery so use all of it's features to maximize your yield potential. The main thing is to have fun and meet some great folks. Let us know how you fared. Full pouches to ya and GOOD LUCK!!;)
