The T2 had her way yesterday, as a matter of fact she's a smart cookie she is!
So the wife was feeling like a little competition, she's trying to recover from chemo she had her last treatment 3 weeks ago and she says to me..."let's go over to park for a little while and have us a hunt" Good gal this lady! Great fighter....but I know this means I've got to do a lot in just a small amount of time as she tires quickly but her competition of the hunt is still very determined, and measured for a win over me! Oh yea honey....I'm ready I say!
I run up to the Detector closet where 7 choices await me.
The first choice is to pick her detector which is not hard to do. There are only two choices. There's a Tek Turbo on the right side of the closet against the wall, Beside that one is her second choice detector it's an identical Tek Turbo backup! But I can only take one for her right...Which will it be...hehehehe
Then I load her Tek Turbo into the car! Returning to the closet I look at choices of the 5 detectors left. I size up the competitive nature of my partner and reach for the T2....But then before my hand makes contact on the Tek (the #1 detector of the decade) I grab the Garrett GTI 2500 with her 9 1/2 inch coil and Sunray Pinpointer. Yea I says...and out the door to win this competition. We arrive at park get everyting ready to go...Mommie starts at the car and has already found a target and is digging before I even gets my wireless head phones set up!
I punch the GTI on and get my screen up only to find a Rechargable battery failure! OUCH................
I just charged these things but one has failed and the read is so low, I figure I'd better go home and grab another detector!
I figure I'd lose some time but thats better than the detector shuttting down and her winning the hunt competition.
So I walk over to where she's digging, find a good target I say? Of course she says aren't they all good honey. Still digging away the whole time I watch her as she uses her pinpointer around the hole!
Well .... I say quite softly....I need to run home My Batteries are dead! Waiting to see her smile, or worse her laugh with joy I waited to hear the worst! hehehe
We only live 3 minutes from the park we were at but whatever comes next I knew I really deserved, should have tested the unit before we left. I knew this would give her an advantage but well my shame right?
This gal has really rubbed these types of thing in in the past, but this time she stops digging...covers up the hole and says come on then I'll ride with you............Yea baby that's what I'm talking about ...did I want to hear that or what!
She said well grab another detector and be back before you can count to three. and then I'll finish kicking your rear!
So we run home I run upstairs and fling open the closet and there sits a T2 smiling and saying "I told you so!"
Come on I said we gots work to do!
I grab the T2 and we're off to the Hunt.
Back at the park, I make some wrong decisions and go into the woods.
I'm hnting the creek for relics of just one good item that can win this Competition for me. Not much time so I hunt quickly with the T2.
Not finding anything really significate I head back over to a huge over 100 year old tree. I've hunted there before found some old coinage as wellas some newer stuff! Was an old home in the area but never found traces of it! No luck again and I'm hunting furiously cause believe me I know the old Gal I'm hunting with and she is willing to kick my rear anytime.
Over to Ball field where people sit and watch the games all summer long. A hit on a quarter...well that's a start....another Quarter, and a penny in the same hole!
My walkie talkie goes off and she says come on honey thats enough, I'm tired!And here we go ...One hour and I'm sitting on 51 cents, the oldest being a quarter 1984 and thats it!
She has kicked my rear I'm sure...To car I walk with head hug low, and it comes to me that I haven't missed anything good hunting so fast ...That the T2 works great hunting fast and that I've learned some valuable stuff hunting like I did with the T2.
To the car and she says find any money ...well yes I smile big
...of course I did. She smiles and says "find over $4.87 cents....Big frown on my face, eyes drooping I'm sure
No not quite that much, realizing I more than likely lost another hunt to this Treasure Hunter of mine. So I pull out and head towards the house. Not much conversation at this point...She kind of smiles at me and says Find over 3.00 rubbing it in! I look over and give her a man look like "You kiding me"Not lying and saying yes, but the look of how could you ask me such a silly question. Again...not much talking going on so she smiles even bigger and says" Did you find over 1.50? I iqnor the question and change the radio station. Laughing she says you got over a dollar didn't you? Again my eyes go up looking at my eye brows and I try to leave it at that.
We pull into the driveway...I start unloading the detectors and shovels, she walks by with our coffee cups and says quitely you didn't ask me how much I found:Rubbing it in! I said will I assumed more you found more than the $4.87 which is what you first asked me.
Nope she said laughing, I found absolutily nothing but junk!
T2 wins again / with .51 cents...and a great win it was.....hehehhehehehehehehehehehehehehe
