The Streak is over.....

Well fellers the detecting streak is over at 27 straight weekends. I guess all streaks have to end, so mine did this weekend. I've detected in Sun, Rain, Sleet, Snow and even some hail. I detected when tired, well, sick and even with a hole patch job three days after leaving the hospital. This weekend my wife lost her 98 year old grandmother whom she was real close to. It's my place to be with her because she's always there for me. Her Grandmother was 98 and never had a real job but she raised alot of kids, tended to a farm and for the last 20 years of her life lived by herself until 1 1/2 years ago, even then she would not leave home. Florine never drove a car in all of those years but she did drive a plow behind horses. She was a true country woman, She lived in a home that has been passed down through the family for over 230 years and Saturday at 3:15 she left that home for a new home in Heaven. Becky is taking it pretty hard even though she puts on a brave face, She cares for her Father who has Alzheimer's Daily and has cared for him for the last 2 and a half years while he has been bed ridden. She's had alot on her and detecting just don't seem that important right now so I'll lay off and give her the support that she deserves. Family comes first as it should. It has been a good run though, I've dug plenty of Civil War Relics and quite a few coins, Met several great people and got reacquainted with some old buddies, Thanks Scott for all the trips and company. Got to finally meet Craig and got to see Butch, Pam and ole Ed again at DIV. It was a blast while it lasted, I'll give it another shot someday. Thanks for listening to my ramblings and if ya don't mind say a little prayer for Becky and her family. Appreciate y'all a bunch...Jim....Flipper out.
