The Sovereign GT finds today says a lot about this metal detector.

The best finds today a 1917 and 1945s dime and a Buffalo nickle without a date.Found an old spigot and match box car.So your asking yourself why did he dig such big targets. The same park last year a gentleman dug up a rotted coin purse with a dozen coins with dates none later than the late 1800's including a three cent piece. My last 4 hunts out of 5 silver has been found.Later Ron

Way to go Ron. What was the average depth of the silver and wheats?

HH, bottlebum

Bottlebum,In this park I've dug about 25 green wheat's in the last couple of weeks 1909s to 1918s with 173 on the meter lower than IHs around 9-12 inches. The silver today was around 7-8 inches 180 on the meter with a nice strong smooth tone. The buff nickle read about 142 on the meter the tone clear with no bark about 5-6 inches down. I have found a large section in this park grown over with large trees thats about 50 yards down hill to the lake possible old swimming area thats where I found the 1917 dime.

Were you using the 10 inch coil?

Thanks for sharing.

Nice finds Ron !! I'm going to take my Sovereign out today and test out my new Sunray probe I bought from Rick. Hopefully some silver (or better yet, gold) is in the cards.

HH,
Brian

Brian,The Sunray Probe will give you extra depth.A lot of iffy targets will be recovered plus the probe eliminates a lot of false targets.Best of all less work and damage to lawns.

Wow! I bet that was a surprise. Nice job on the indian too!
Don't leave us in suspense. Ya gotta tell the story too........
