the rest of the week is committed to
other causes ...

Im hoping its just a phase ... even some
new spots have been dissapointing ..
Old ball fileds that i found out by digging have a
lot of Slag for fill...common in a steel area like
western pa..Any suggestions for overcoming that???

Oh well any is still beter than a sharp
stick in the eye or a warm beer ...

Oldranger, be glad to help end that slump. You ever get down to SE Delaware ? If so I've got a spot so big that has been producing and there's no way i can cover it all. Cant get anybody to go with me. I have been doing the best I have ever done. Lot of fun to. Found a '44 quarter, '43 merc, 5 wheats and alot of old clad last night and that was a 2.5hr hunt. Been working an area the size of a football field in the past month os so, and thats just one part of a huge area. Found a '35 merc and at least 20 wheats in the last two weeks. Found four big pocket spills and a few small ones. Let me know if your interested.

Oh man, that's just how it goes. I'll go for a long time between good finds. Diggin' up all kinds o'junk. Just like Joe says, that next target could be a diamond ring. We always have fun metal detecting.even if we don't find anything good. Kinda like playin' the lottery. It's still fun to play even if ya don't win. Winning would be nice, though.Happy Hunting!

3.10 has me beat, I found 28 cents and the quarter was during a walk with my dogs and 3 pennys in the front yard. I guess that due to the fact that I don't get to metal detect much due to illness, everything I find excites me. I did get a little exhausted with all those 22 rifle casings the other day. If it registers 3.5 A, it's usually a 22 casing. Even when I can only get out for an hour or so, it really refreshes my spirit and my mind. The thing that really gets to me is the number of people who turn you down concerning metal detecting on their property. Not manicured yards mind you, but old stores and industrial sites. I must look like a desperado, but I am just a harmless fat man. lol
