The size of a dime looks like lead?

There are nails that are called " lead heads " for the purpose of attaching sheet metal roofing and when the nail is seated against the metal it is pounded flat to seal the hole. sometimes the lead comes off and causes the detectorist to wonder what he has found.

We find something like that from time to time. I call them pseudo coins. The ones we find are more regular and are made from old musket balls. Some of them have initials scratched on them. Usually on both sides. My take is that , in our case, these are made by kids just to have something coin like in their pocket hence pseudo-coin.

Yours has a more irregular look and has been, judging from all the little dents, hammered into shape. for what purpose I have no idea. I wonder if the weight might relate to a musket ball weight? Just a thought. Lead can be reworked into anything.
