the silver slump

Hello all,
I've been reading all the great posts on the forum, and the wonderful finds, and found myself in a silver dry spell for about 10 months now. I've been detecting about 10 years now, and have never had a hard time finding the elusive shiny stuff. I've had great sites to search, that haven't produced, and it was very dishartening. Turns out my slump ended today right by my house. I live on base (Fort Campbell, Ky). I pulled out a 1943 Mercury dime in 3 minutes of searching. Let me tell you, while by far not a very impressive find, it sure lifted my "detecting" spirits. I feel this may sound a bit silly but I feel much better. I can finally share a decent find with the rest of the group. Now if only I don't have to go back to Iraq....

There's nothing like finding a Merc Dime to pick one's spirits up. When searching Shaw AFC, SC in the late 70's I found rolls of Merc's. There's just something about popping one out of the dark soil! I'm in a slump also and can relate. Go Air Force! <img src="/metal/html/super.gif" border=0 width=26 height=28 alt=":super">
