The second disc on the Tejon

WV62

Well-known member
So far I can't seem to find a need for the second disc on the Tejon and rarely use it. It is not like it is hurting anything being there but I was wondering if anybody out there has a really good use for it?

Most of my hunting is in parks and yards and I am mostly looking for gold jewelry and take the coins as I come across them.

No problems with the machine, just wanted to see if I could get some good ideas for the second disc.

Thanks

Easy. Set the second disc to break up on tabs-not a click but a noticeable signal that's going wacko whenever you switch to #2. Now, if it breaks up on #2, it's in the tab range, if it goes silent, it's in the foil/nickel range (depending on #1 setting), and if it still gives a good signal-coin range. Relic hunters use a different setting-this is the coin/jewelry setting. I installed a switch on my Silver umax, and that's my setup. Like you, however, I hardly use it anymore because of location and the price of gold.
