THE SE EXPLORER ON THE BEACH?

saltwater jim

New member
ok after trying many settings im still getting falsing in the wet sand . the falsing sounds like a low bass. i have used noise cancel over and over until i feel like im using my xlt in the wet sand. before i send the se back to minelab which really bugs me thier top of the line machine that hasnt worked without falsing in the wet sand.

is there anybody that uses the se on the beach in wet sand that doesnt get falsing? i was told by minelab that i should be able to scrub the coil through the wet sand with no falsing which i find unbelievable as ive been holding it about a quarter inch above the ground to try to get less falsing. the settings im ising now are what sandy at minelab suggested

gain-6
fast on
deep off
sens ive been running at 22 as i still get falsing at 15

what im asking before i spend anymore money by shipping it back to minelab is if anybody has been able to run the se in the wet sand without falsing thanks in advance
a dissapointed SE owner

when i had mine, the brand new factory 10" was bad, did the same as yours, the 8" worked great, the moment i switched to the 10" and hit the damp sand and shallow surf................falsing all the time.

try another coil

hi max dont have another coil to try unless the sov coil fits it i have a feeling it doesnt . havent tried gain as low as 5 been tunning it a 6 if it doesnt ran tommorow will give that a shot other than that guess will ship back to minelab , it may be a bad coil as it runs smooth in the dry stuff lol which i rarely hunt but as soon as it gets wet it starts falsing thanks for the info will try 5 then if that dont work woll let minelab figure it out HH JIM

Both of my machines (xs,2) do the same thing and I tried the 8in. 15in. coils
I have asked this ques. before on the forum and didnt get anywhere.
I even sent the xs back and they said it was one of the boards so they claimed to have replaced it.I Think There Full Of Crap
This is what happens when you send it to a dealer that has no salt water beaches.
I feel that if this is a defect from the machines they should address this.So basiclly I have two machines that sit in the garage.
What I have done before is keep the coil off the ground.Your arm gets tired but I dont know what else to do.
If you find a solution to this problem could you please post it on this forum.

Definitely something wrong with your se
i run
gain 9
fast off
deep on
sens 28 auto

on wet sand and in water, never had any false signals.
