The reason the Edge did not include the Nickel in high tone

is for those people who want to hunt at the beach for gold rings, and don't want to be bothered with targets in the high coin range tones.
 
I'm sure a modification could be done to move a nickel to hi-tone like the other coins.
 
Heck one good gold ring can make up for a whole lot of clad...Sure takes patience..Hard to believe but a very low percentage of gold rings come in as a dead nickel and have even used a CZ in this fashion as many discrininate the nickle out when looking for gold rings as while they were digging a dozen nickles perhaps missed a nice gold ring..Sort of damned if you do and damned if you don't....as my wife's mothers ring a nice 14kt. gold ring comes in dead nickle....
