The Rain Helped!

Howdy--

We have had a few days of much needed rain which maid some of the hard to hunt areas huntable. There is one site in particular where in the past if a target read at 3", I would pass it as being too deep to dig. I'm serious - the dirt was as hard as concrete. This site had and still has potential. In the past I've eyeballed silver quarters there. The dirt was probably too hard to get deep hahah. Well, today it was a different story. In a 3 hour hunt I pulled out a couple silver Roosevelt's - a 1947-D and a beat up 1960-D. I also dug some clad and a few memorials to go with 5 wheat cents, the oldest a 1925-D. I eyeballed the tip of the Ankh which is the Egyptian "Key of Life". Best of luck and...

Thanks jarrow. Now you are taking me back to the '60's. I think that you are right! In the places that I hunt, I never know what that next signal is going to be. Years ago I dug a cache of hypodermic needles. I've worn gloves ever since. Best of luck and...

Nice hunt and glad you can do some digging again. We are very dry currently here in W Tn. We have been fortunate for most of the year so hope we don't have to pay for that this fall when temps are more ideal for hunting. Dig it while you can and good luck. HH jim tn

Outstanding! Ha! thats the first thing I thought of too when I saw that ankh! :smoke: Good hunting there!

I am so sick of Rain that it is not funny. We are waterlogged. It has been raining nearly every day for over two weeks. TV Weather guesser this evening said Wed and Thursday would be "No Rain". Checked weather on computer and 80% Monday thru Friday. We have a stalled front sitting just off shore that keeps drifting back across us and pouring the rain.

Wish I could send some of this rain to those that need it as we have had more than our share lately.

I will quit whining Now.

Glad you could get out and detect. You certainly had some nice finds. Congratulations

Thanks Jim Tn. I hope that you have good weather and a successful hunting season with PLENTY of good finds! Best of luck and...

Thanks Mudpuppy. I guess that I'll make a display with pictures from Woodstock, the Key of Life and some of the unusual brass pipes that I have dug. Best of luck and...

Thanks GeorgeinSC. When it comes to weather it's often one extreme or the other. Here in west Texas it's been the other. We have had a drought for about 3 years. We have had to be very conscientious about our water consumption. Our aquifers have been at about 10%. There is a large fine for washing a car or truck in one's driveway. You get the idea. Well, I hope that you get a break from the rain and we get a little more. Best of luck and...
