All night it has poured rain out here on the Eastend !!!! finally the soil is soaked once again it has been months dry as pig bones in the desert hard as rock all i could detect was beaches and they was to hot , today rain tapering off and COOLER TEMP,S !! i might even try a boring school yard lol Jim :detecting:

We got a good bit of rain here too the last few three days or so so I bet the soil is better. Here's a wierd thing. I saw an old tiny little house getting torn down a few days back and planned to hunt the site Friday. I drove by there and darn if I can see where a house stood! Grass over entire lot where I remember them tearing it down?! And this is only a couple miles away from me on a street I've driven down and seen that house many times before over the years. Now I'm racking my brain to see if it was on a different street but man I remember that house being right where I looked for it the other day. Right where I remember them tearing it down 5 or 6 days ago too?! Felt like I was in the twilight zone on that one and still can't figure out where I really must have seen that house. I *knew* where it was for years, as it stood out as a very odd site because it was very tiny, like not even half the size of a small ranch house. I only saw a gravel little parking lot where I thought it was. Got out of my truck and stood there with my hands on my hips thinking "Where the h*ll is the bare patch of ground that must have been left when this house was removed the other day?!" I know I must been mis-remembering where that house stood but I just can't figure it out.

Yes. We received some very welcome rain last night here in New Mexico also.

Critter you sure your not from my town? the same exact thing happened here a week ago one day a small house was on a open lot at the edge of a very large vineyard the next day it was gone and ........ grass was there where the house WAS!!! that house was there as long as i can remember then puff it,s gone , the large trees that surrounded the house is still there . I know the couple that was renting it they let me detect the large lot it was on a few years ago . WEIRD !!!! even the driver who drives the DAV van for us vets said the same thing where did it go ??? . hhmm it now looks like it is and always has been part of the vineyard the land the small house was on . Jim  house napping lol

I know, I'm SURE this stinking house was exactly where I've seen it for years and saw it being torn down only like last Wednesday or so. I know I didn't dream that or anything. I've always watched that house for years because it was very old and yet very small, so it always caught my eye when I drove by. Last week when I saw it being torn down and dumped into dumpers with heavy equipment I thought "going to hunt that Friday morning". Where the heck is the bare ground where it stood? Only thing I can figure is maybe ready made sod was brought in and rolled over the bare ground? Hmmmm....That might be it, because the tiny gravel parking lot right at the edge of the road was there still but the frick'n bare spot in the grass wasn't there. Didn't even see heavy machine tracks come to think of it, so maybe they did roll out some new sod. Wouldn't make sense though because it's a nasty area on an old road with no other houses near it. It's an industrial road these days.

And by the way, if they did roll out new sod to cover the bare spot then why use such ratty/weed infested grass? Unless they got the sod for free from another site or something? This is still bugging the heck out of me. Either I dreamed that house being torn down, or I did see it torn down and I dreamed going over there and not seeing a bare spot. I've never had a dream and thought it was real, but I guess there is always a first for everything. It's bugging me so bad I think I might drive back over there today and take a good look again. Just hope it's not all in black and white and I hear the Twilight Zone music in the background.

I'm just glad you admitted to the same experience, because I hesitated to post that story and be laughed at. But hey, the truth is the truth. I'm not one of those guys who believe in ghosts or ESP (or at least haven't seen any proof that would convince me otherwise). Bigfoot in the Pacific Northwest? Now that's a different story. That 1967 Paterson video just looks to real with the muscles moving and all that under the skin. Especially when you see modern supposed videos and the costumes look clownish they are so obviously fake.

Which reminds me, we just had this discussion in the general interests forum and I posted a few high tech video enhancements of that film by a special effects expert. He shows you some enhancements of that film that will blow your mind. Even a better view of the muscles moving on it's back and butt and such. He said in his opinion there is no way that was a costume, especially with 1967 technology. That film is the only reason why I *think* there might be a real animal living where it was taken in that vast pacific northwest moutain ranges that span from California all the way up into Canada. They say small planes crash in those wilds every year that are never seen again because it's so remote. These stories about it being in other states? Not enough land to hide them, so no way IMO.

Check out the links in that thread about "Strange Early Morning ecounters" for those videos, and somebody posted the thread originaly about a wierd ghostly experience he had while metal detecting and others pitched in some strange stories too. Good read...
