The Racer is too Deep.

I dont know if any one else has had the problem of too much depth with the racer but i have had to give up digging on some targets as they were too far down, what the targets were i don't know but they were well over 10 inches down. I cant dig a foot + deep holes on parks because of the possible damage / mess to the ground.

Well it's true. There is stuff down there possibly good finds 12 + inches that the racer is locating. I can dig them on land that is farmland but on parks I leave those 11 + inch deep targets.

They could be large targets of big iron or cans even tin cans. Or pipes at older parks. Maybe be turn down the sens to about 50 and turn up your disc to about 15-20 and see what happens??

That is my thought as well. Rolling along with this thought....I need to take my vehicle back to the dealership as they provided me with too much horsepower....:) Naaa I'll keep it just the way that it is. I'll just ease up on the gas pedal and drive conservatively :poke:

I have now heard it all.

It seems some missed the point of your post. I commend you for being conservative in the depth of holes you want to dig in parks.

If more people cared, we would have less issues detecting in parks..... Good Job !!

Crank that sens down, and dig what you feel is reasonable in your areas you detect..

Check your responses in Pinpoint or All-Metal. If they are a wide, drawn out response--you have a deep spike.

Strange.

This might sound a little far fetched to you, but I had an AT Gold with the stock 8 inch coil, and at parks, with dry dirt, I was able to strike clad dimes up to 14 inches. Since no one else had the same performance with the AT Gold as I did, I thought it was a error in the wiring, or an factory inconsistency. Another thing was that the AT Gold could only detect tin cans and quarters to 11-12 inches maximum.

When I'm chasing deeper targets in parks, I tend to loosen up the dirt and leave it in the hole, and just keep looseneing up the dirt until I can find the target with my pinpointer, that way there's no mess.
