Decided to try an old british army beach this am., it's just around the corner from the Royal Naval Dockyard and is a little secluded. (note* keep your eyes open for drug dealers and other nere-do-wells)
This beach would have received a real pounding from Flo so I thought I would try my luck. The hunt started off really slow with a little bit of modern clad, a 20mm cannon shell casing and some brass boat fittings. I was working the waist to chest deep water as per usual and the hits were mainly junk, so I tried something different and worked in closer to the shore around knee deep which I don't generally do. Bingo! up comes a .925 ring and it is quickly followed by a custom 14k job and finally a .925 ring with the stone gone from the setting. I looked for the stone but no dice.
All in all, a pretty good pay off for a two hour hunt!
I may go out for the low tide as well, but first, BREAKFAST. All that digging works up an appetite.
Cheers,
BDA
PS pic to follow when the Princess remembers where she put the charger for the camera battery, we are now so organized that I can't find anything
