It's happening right before our eyes.
The last time a revolution occured in photography was the transition from tintypes and glass negatives to film.

... I got excited about photography when I was a kid, contact printing and developing my own prints. It was magical. But maybe kids today get just as big a thrill out of digital imaging. I don't know. There is something about working in a darkroom and the smell of fixer that means photography to me. Sorry to see it go.
