Been a long time since ive commented on the forum as had given the game away for a while .Have had a new equinox 800 for a few weeks now and have been back down to my local park that i had been over with an old xterra 70 then a whites V3i that i could never get to balance or run quite . I knew there was still good stuff there but the sepperation of the nox is outstanding and good targets just stand out.. Found by just taking out 14 cut 80 or more percent of targets almost all of which are ringtabs , making it so much easier to concerntrate on all the other signals. Taking out 14 allowed me to pickup quite a few 10c pieces which i had written off . the 10c give a pretty solid 13 and just the faintest tone difference from a good ringtab. Still only a third the way through the park so still some more good finds to go. My park has so far given up close if not over $1000 in coins .

Good job, Canadian park I'm guessing?

That's a lot of coins, and good chance gold rings will surface.

Congrats!
Paul

west australian park . looking forward to giving it a run in the goldmining town when the weather cools.

Notched out 14 in the park 2 setting, I know this may take some gold rings but it also took out 80 percent of the junk , which in turn made the area a lot more detector friendly. I was swinging and just bringing up a symphony of tones as the locals used to sit around playing poker and drinking. Removing every ring tab off every can as there are just thousands of them. Some still come up at 12 13 and 15 but 80 percent rung at 14 . With 80 percent of background sounds gone was a lot easier to concentrate on the more solid tones of 10 (5c) 13 (10c) 16 (20c) 17 (50c) 21 and 22 ( 1$ @2$) as well as any other solid sounding targets .

10c read around 25 or 26 on mine, and 25c reads 30 or so. Also, what to you do to notch out 14? What buttons do you push to notch?
Thanks

Jimmy,

From page 49 of the manual...

Accept/Reject
You can create your own discrimination patterns to detect or ignore specific target types,
so you can dig more treasure and less trash.
Targets are represented by both a Target ID number and an
individual segment on the Discrimination Scale (page 30).
Target ID segments can be turned on or off to either detect
(accept) or ignore (reject) targets. All Target IDs that are on will be
accepted and all Target IDs that are off will be rejected.
The combinations of accepted and rejected segments are referred
to as discrimination patterns.
The Discrimination Scale has a range from -9 to 40.
Discrimination patterns are local, only the active Detect Mode
Search Profile will be affected by changes to the pattern.
Creating a Discrimination Pattern
1. Use the Settings button to navigate to Accept/Reject in the
Settings Menu.
2. Navigate to the Target ID you wish to change, using the
Minus (–) and Plus (+) buttons. The Plus button will move one
segment in a clockwise direction with each press. The Minus
button will move one segment anti-clockwise with each press.
The current selected Target ID will flash slowly, and the
corresponding Target ID number will appear on the Target ID
Display.
3. Press the Accept/Reject button to turn the Target ID on
or off. A Target ID will be detected if the Target ID
segment is on.
4. Continue to navigate around the Discrimination Scale, turning
Target IDs on or off with the Accept/Reject button until you
have created your discrimination pattern.

I found a great park too. I have taken over $24 in clad out of there in since Sunday in 2 hour hunts with my Equinox 800. I still have about 1/2 the park to go but I am afraid I hit the sweet spots in the park and from here on out I think I will have to work hard to get more than $2 per hunt.

Yes mine is petering out now and am having to work hard. Great for learning now , with trying different programs and frequency’s to decifer trash from treasure. If the equinox had the same colour screen and displayed the frequencies like my v3i does it would be the ultimate all round Vlf detector.
