The P1853 IS HERE!!! SWEET SWEET SWEET

QUESTIONS:

How should I preserve the strap?

How should I remove the butt plate from the musket to be returned?
The screws are stripped and tight!

The stock is nearly perfect and the gun cocks and fires the hammer.

The strap is very well preserved.

It's missing the butt plate so I'm trying to figure out how to remove the original plate from the gun I plan to return. I can't damage the gun or it's mine.

I'm very happy with this 1853!

What do you think?

Thanks,

MB

If you have a dremel tool...use the cut-off wheel and make a cut across the face of the screw. It's like making a new slot for a screw driver. Good luck

Thanks, I'll try that.

It's like these screws are welded to the butt plate.

I do have to be careful but that butt plate isn't leaving here:devil:
