The Outer Banks of North Carolina

I will be going to Corolla, NC on the Outer Banks of NC tomorrow 5-3-06. I will be using a Bounty Hunter Scout on the beach and shallow saltwater. The southern beaches of the OBX are much more populated than where I will be on the north end. Any suggestions on metal detecting in this area? I will be contacting the county to make sure that it is legal for metal detectors. A long stretch of the southern part is a National Park and metal detectors are forbidden.

That sounds good. I will be in Corolla, just down from VBeach, I will let you know how I did.

just beware of the "SODA POP PIRATES"

u may have to pay homage to get on the beach

I went to the web site listed in your reply. I have read the book The Mighty Midgetts of Chicamacamico, and all of the books written by David Stick on the Outer Banks. My sister married into the Scarbrough's of Duck. My Captain here at the Police Dept in Norfolk is a Midgette. At least I will be able to find some fish hooks and probably sinkers. If I do I will revert to surf fishing, my favorite hobby.
