The Original Sovereign

MO,I have had two Originals.The first one I bought about five years ago before I had any experience with Sovereign's and came to a conclusion that all Sovereigns were heavy and obsolete and sold it right away.After using the whole lineup of Sovereign's and I gained experience in the last four and a half years my opinion has changed completely the Sovereign is one of the best detectors for my use, old park hunting.I got another Original and tried it for a couple of weeks,wow! hot rocks!! all over the place at parks I re-hunted.The worst part the signal that gave you the clue it was a good target a deep silver coin it was usually a hot rock.I even put a remote switch on the handle to help switch back and fourth from all metal to discriminate to eliminate this problem,which it helped,but still way too many hot rocks.The other Sovereigns I used don't have this problem.You asked about using a Sovereign for relic hunting it wouldn't be my first choice because Sovereign's hate iron.

Unless you hunt in All Metal or PP, which many relic hunters do with any machine and not just Sovereigns anyway.
