The only time I leave a racecourse better off than when I arrived

is when the races aren't on and I take my detector with me. Today I visited our local country racecourse. Only been there a couple of times before. First time I went my first or second probe went straight into a hole made by another detectorist. I was sort of expecting it. I didn't expect or even hope that I woulod be the first to detect there. When I turned up to ask permission to hunt, I got the impression from the guy I spoke to that I wasn't the first detectorist he had seen or spoken to.Anyway, had a godd couple of hours today. Started off slowly, and I thought I might be going home with only a couple of coins. Thank goodness we have $1 and$2 coins in Aus. Tally for the afternoon was: $2 x 13; $1 x 4; 50c; 20c x 2; 10c x 5; 5c x 3; 1c. 29 coins for $31.55. Sorry, no pics. Haven't upgraded myself to that technology yet. It will come. No rings or jewellery, lots of trash, but I think the coins may have had a win today. All the best, Sapper

Congrats on the very nice coin hunt! That is a nice "tally' for sure. I wish we had those kind of coins, Beale.
