"FIFI" the last flying B-29 Superfortress was seen cruising around Amarillo,Tx last week.....of course there was a little airborne command and control flying around also....

These are nice pictures, did you take them? I would love to ride in one, but I don't done think that is allowed at the air shows around here. Thanks for sharing! Kelley (Texas) :)

Very nice pictures of the airplanes.

Thanks for the nice comments....yes I did take the photos. I do more aviation photography than anything else. Here in Amarillo, being in the central part of the country and one of the longest runways in the U.S. we get a wide variety of aircraft (old and new) stopping in for fuel and food. The B-29 and C-45/Beech 18 came in and spent the week for tours and rides to help promote and raise funds for the Commemorative Air Force. I'll post more as time goes on. Didn't really know if there was an interest in this type photo on the forum.
Thanks again
Frank

Do you ever see any P40 Flying Tiger airplanes? That has always been one of my favorites. I have also always liked the B25 Bomber. When time permits, please post airplane pictures, folks would love to see them. Kelley (Texas) :)

I'm sorry I didn't have a good camera when I was a kid....I lived pretty close to Westover Air Base in Chicopee - Ludlow area and kept seeing all kinds of aircraft flying around through the years. I even remember seeing the one with the props facing backwards, the f104 starfighters etc. Actually a taker plane crashed a couple of miles from our house in 1958 or 59....skidded right across the Mass Pike and exploded. We have some old movie film from the day after.
