I had a few minutes free on Sunday, so I decided to hit an old school yard in the middle of town that EVERYONE who has a detector hunts. It has pretty much quit producing now, but occasionally one will pop up. I've pounded this place with every detector I've owned, and the undisputed winner for finding the deepies is still the Coinstrike.
We had a nice soaking rain last week, so I knew digging conditions would be perfect. I decided since I had limited time, I'd just dig the high tones that pinpointed deep. After a few minutes, I got a repeatable high tone that ID'd around 32. Pinpoint was between 9 and 11 (you know that's good!) I dug to a depth I'm not gonna repeat or people will call me ugly names and up popped another wheat from this pounded place. It's still too cruddy to tell a date (the ground here is mean to copper). I know a wheat is no big deal, but right beside the penny was a old rusty nail.. (about 3 inches away)..
Yep, I still luv my Coinstrike!
