The night of the Silver Dollars

Larry (IL)

What a great turnout, 42 came and plenty to eat. I think we are starting to outgrow that place as well as the meeting room and we will have to look for a larger banquet hall for next years Christmas party. :surrender:

Wow, the silver dollars that were handed out was unreal, 12 I believe, and most of them were in the 1880's and in beautiful condition too. Congratulations to all that got to take one or more of them home. :clapping: Wow what a year of great finds, it seems like a ton of finds from the 1800's including coins and relics from the Civil War and earlier. Two Spanish Reales and a coin from the 1600's, two CW Union buckles, CW tokens, the list just goes on and on. A year from now, we will be oohing and awing over similar finds yet to be made. For some of us, it will be a long winter before we can once again get to play in the dirt.

Thanks once again to our officers of 2012, we really appreciate your service to the club and a huge welcome to the incoming officers for 2013, Nancy- President, Nathan- VP, Andrew- Treasurer and Steve C. as Secretary/Newsletter Editor to help keep all of the loose ends tied together.

It has been my pleasure being the keeper of the gavel for the past two years and I am looking forward to a change at the front table next year. New and different ideas for the club......
