We are proud to announce the arrival of the Nexus metal detector. Designed to detect targets at extreme depth; whether your searching for single coins, relics, jewelry or deep caches, treasure or Civil War relics, the Nexus can do the job in most applications. The unique design of the Nexus coils give you not only depth, but excellent ground coverage. Swing weight and balance are very good, so longer detecting sessions are possible. Advisory! The Nexus is not for beginners. Although simple to operate, user knowledge and metal detecting skill is required to obtain peek performance within a short to medium learning curve. Patience and practice will give you the results you desire in productive areas. Please understand this from the beginning. I will be glad to advise you before you decide if the Nexus is for you. We also have links to other Nexus web site's to visit on our web page. Good hunting, David@Dixie

We have a Nexus page on our web site. Just click on the Nexus button to view pics and other information. Good hunting, David@Dixie

Can one of the head fellas remind me again of the rules when it comes to giving you opinion as to what a machine can or cant do compared to others. Im not buying the hype on this thing.

no offense to anyone but has any one read my posts 6 months ago? maybe i was on the minelab forum, thats why i got banned but apparently the vabeach guy knows it all , well im glad somebody has a brain good luck David

If you own a Nexus and can give a fair opinion, that's fine and welcome. What we attempt to do here is give honest testimonials or likes/dislikes about a metal detector as it relates to relic hunting. However, if someone's intent is to only give a negative opinion based on what they've heard or read, that isn't going to help anyone. Those comments should be avoided until one has personal experience. All comments both negative and positive based on personal experience are always welcome, up to a point. No one cares to hear how great a new detector is a thousand times by the same person, nor is there any point in bashing a detector more than once. The bottom line is; be honest, be fair and let's not start arguements for the hell of it. Good hunting, David@Dixie

I wasnt planning on being harsh. But a small lead seal at 12"? Big whoop! My 5900 has pulled brass flat buttons no bigger than peas deeper than that. And my Excel has pulled small bits of melted lead deeper too. So how is that outrageous price tag justified?

Most top end metal detectors today have a steep price tag. The Nexus price range is within two of Minelab's quality gold models, and $1,395 below their top gold detector. Is the price worth it? Many very successful gold prospectors will tell you a resounding "Yes!" Most of us understand that what we pay for a metal detector isn't the main issue. We want something that works for us, but success many times is relavant to what we put into it; skill/experience, research, hours of walking new ground and many times coming up empty handed. If I relied on a living selling what I find, I'd be in the poor house, aside from the fact I do not sell my personal finds. I just love the experience. The Nexus is another custom made metal detector that has produced some outstanding finds. It is not mass produced, nor built with mass sales in mind. Those that can afford it, and want it, will buy it. It's not for everyone; just like other brands and models. Most all metal detectors find things; some better than others. Today, getting maximum depth can be a great asset, as many sites have been detected for years. The Nexus is designed to do just that; detect at depth. Obviously, the Nexus isn't for you, so let's leave it at that. Good hunting, David@Dixie

If you follow Gary's UK site he has been using one for a while.. You are correct it probably isn't for everyone and the price isn't out of reason either for a specialty unit.. Recently I was at Moore Creek With one of the owners Steve H. we had both found targets the nite before we kinda gave up on so the next morning I took a shovel and my 3500 back again to the spot, Steve took the X70, we dug his up which turned out to be an overall button and mine turned out to be a 1.5" or so dia alum cap aprox 20" or so in the ground. I heard this with the 3500 stock 11" coil and even uncovered the X70 gave no response to the target until it was shoved down in the hole.. I guess the bottom line is this, there are units out there capable of incredible depths, and those high low tones the 3500 gives out all come out of the ground. It is always the trash or ground matrix factor that determines which detector you can use at a certain site and how well you the operator can hear the targets you want to dig up.....Hh...Geo ;)

Good talking to you today. Georgi and I talked right after we hung up and was wondering if you might be able to send me some black sand from your area? Maybe half a pound or so? If you get some, email me and I'll send you shipping. Georgi would like to test it. I think he may be on to something concerning gold prospecting. Wish I were up there catching those King's and Red's...but one day I will. Take care and good hunting, David

The man has spent a lot of time and money developing the Nexus, and as we all would be, he is proud of his detector. Let's wait for the results to come in before we start to praise or criticise it. I'd hate to say anything bad about it and then have to call David and order one. Sure, it's not cheap, but it's only produced in small numbers. My guess is that if it does what it claims to, we'll all find a way to afford one in the future.
