Well I hope some of you remember me.. as I was planning on getting the MXT... and so glad that I waited... As now the MXT Pro is out.. and I tell you I'm really liking the idea of that one
So as I have found out.... My brother wants me to come see him this summer... He is in Seattle Washington (BEACH) So, me being a new guy and want to purchase what I really need to get the best out of it..
With the MXT Pro should I get a different coil for the beach area...? And plan to hit the sand area in Michiagan soon too.. AS I live in IL all we have out near me is parks and some forest woods area.. not much anymore with all the building going on.. before.. as thier are areas where houses are to go.. but are just sitting there.. I thinking I should hit these areas soon.. you never know.
So sand scoop and pinpointer for where I look at home.. Help...

Just my opinion, but the MXT Pro already comes with the best beach coil on it, the 12" super coil. It worked wonders for me on California beaches and I have also hunted Northern IL beaches on lake Michigan, again the 12" coil was great. For the parks I would choose a smaller coil like the 5.3 eclipse and for the forest areas if they are fairly clean the 12" coil will work great and if it is littered with trash the 5.3 would be the coil of choice.

Hi Joe and welcome back. I would think the stock coil would be fine for the beaches. You want something fairly large to sweep. The SunRay DX-1 pinpointer is the best in my opinion and for a sand scoop, maybe someone has one for sale on the classified ads on the forum. Good luck and again, welcome back Joe.

I really like my 12. Planning to head to south Padre Island and find some stuff. That beach is packed with people everyday and only a few hours from me. Take care and have a fun trip.

TOOK MY NEW MXT PRO TO BEACH TODAY FOR THE FIRST TIME , GROUND MINERAL 4 TO 86, 12'' COIL, THIS COILS A WINNER ! THE 7 TONES ANOTHER WINNER ! HAD A MXT SINCE 2002, PRO IS A BIG STEP UP.
