Is it black electrical tape or bicycle handle tape?
 
I do like the looks of that scoop,but I would like to see one with a "T" on the end of the handle.It would be easier to hang on to while draging it.

I love Babbs scoops. I would like to see one with a tall back gusset that goes up at least 8"-10" so the main tube wouldn't start bowing after a several months of hard use when you put pressure to it. That would change the leverage point dramatically. :detecting:
 
Thanks for the pics Mr. B, that's along the lines of what I'm looking for in my next water scoop. I'll have to sketch something up along those lines for Bill to weld up for me.
